NEW: Our Lady Queen of Peace can now accommodate 100 people at Mass

We are very pleased that Our Lady Queen of Peace has reopened for Public Worship on Monday, 29 June after over 3 months without Masses for the Public.
In accord with the Cabinet Committee Review on Ireland’s Covid 19 Response on Friday 3 July, received from the Archdiocese, our church can now accommodate 100 people for Mass. See details here.

A special committee has put in a lot of work to prepare the church for this and we are especially grateful to the parishioners who have heroically cleaned and sanitised each day during lockdown so that we could remain open for prayer and Confessions.

More ushers and cleaners are needed to ensure the safety of those who come to Mass. Volunteers are most welcome. Please contact Fr James.

At present the obligation to attend Mass on Sunday is dispensed with. You might consider coming to Mass and receiving the Blessed Eucharist on a weekday instead.

To comply with the Cabinet decision, for Masses the church is divided into 2 separate areas, front and rear. Each can accommodate 50 people.
  • There is to be no movement between these areas during Mass.
  • Entrance/exit to the
     - front area is through the side door,
     - rear area is through the main door.
Please follow the indications of ushers
  • Please sanitise your hands on entry.
  • The wearing of face coverings or masks is very strongly recommended.
  • Come to receive Holy Communion (in the hand) in single file by the centre aisle and return by a side aisle, while respecting the social distance of 2m that is marked.
      - those in the front area will receive at the Altar,
      - those in the rear area will receive at the end of the rear block.
  • After Mass, please follow indications of ushers to facilitate exiting that will respect social distancing.
  • Should anyone have symptoms of possible COVID-19, (a temperature, a cough) they shouldn’t come to church.  People over 70 are still encouraged under HSE guidelines to stay at home for the moment.
Fr Fergus is still partially cocooned at home and will be in the church occasionally. Fr James will normally be available in the church each morning.
