Mass in honour of St Josemaría Escrivá, Saturday 25 June 2016 at 12 noon

News

This year Archbishop Diarmuid Martin celebrated the annual Mass honouring St Josemaría, Founder of Opus Dei.

The large congregation, which filled the church, included people of all ages and of many continents, illustrating the universality of the Church and the scope of the charism of St Josemaría.
In his homily (downloadable below) Archbishop Martin stressed the universal call to holiness and the essential role of lay people in the spreading of the “Joy of the Gospel”.
“Saint Josemaría had a special gift in leading men and women into a form of holiness which would become fruitful through a life lived within the realities of daily life”.
After Mass, Archbishop Martin kindly made time to meet large numbers of those attending, including many parents with young children, whom he greeted very warmly.
